Hui received his BS, MS, and Ph.D degrees from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) in 1994, 1998, and 2004, respectively. He was also an affiliate professor in University of Science and Technology (UST) and was a visiting scholar in the Media Communications Lab. at University of Southern California (USC), USA.

Patent №: 12063365 (August 13, 2024) – Sub-block division-based image encoding/decoding method and device. The disclosed video decoding method partitions a block into two sub-blocks, derives motion information for each, and generates prediction samples. A final prediction for the block is created by combining these samples, using predefined asymmetric partition shapes.

Dawei Zhang
iOS Wireless Professional at Apple.

Patent №: 12063664 (August 13, 2024) – Multiplexing of uplink transmissions. This describes techniques for multiplexing uplink control information with other communications between a user equipment (UE) and a base station, including generating control information and selecting resources.

Patent №: 12063645 (August 13, 2024) –Scheduling restriction enhancements for LTE and 5G NR dynamic spectrum sharing. Methods and devices enable a base station, acting as a primary cell, to perform dual spectrum sharing (DSS) by managing a 5G NR connection with one user equipment (UE) and an LTE connection with another.

Patent №: 12063641 (August 13, 2024) – Single downlink control information (DCI) multi-transmission and receipt point (multi-TRP) time division multiplexing (TDM) enhancement. A user equipment (UE) determines and communicates an offset time for data transmission or reception. The UE then sends or receives data in two portions over different wireless links, with the intervals between them separated by the offset time.

Patent №: 12063598 (August 13, 2024) – – Reduced power consumption by obtaining time domain resource allocation patterns in advance via additional signaling. A device receives a time-domain wireless-resource allocation (TWRA) pattern from the network for a future time interval, allowing it to use the resources without decoding control information first. The TWRA pattern remains valid until the network indicates otherwise or the device requests a change.

Patent №: 12063532 (August 13, 2024) – PDCCH transmission in wireless communications. A user equipment (UE) monitors an Anchor-search space set (SSS) for Downlink Control Information (DCI). If DCI is found, the UE then checks a Subordinate-SSS based on the detected DCI.

Patent №: 12063505 (August 13, 2024) – Vehicle-to-everything (V2X) security policy negotiation between peer user equipment. These techniques enhance V2X security by allowing UEs to initiate or receive connections, with the receiving UE able to reject based on the initiator’s capabilities, and the initiator making the final decision based on the receiver’s security information.

Patent №: 12063182 (August 13, 2024) –Reception and transmission in new radio (NR) based on subcarrier spacing. This application relates to devices and methods for 5G NR communication at frequencies above 52.6 GHz and subcarrier spacing over 120 kHz.

Patent №: 12063172 (August 13, 2024) – Designs for multi-DCI based multi-TRP operation. The UE receives cell reference signal (CRS) rate matching patterns from one of the gNBs, which include control resource set (CORESET) pool indications. The UE then applies these patterns to a CORESET for a Physical Downlink Shared Channel (PDSCH) based on the indicated CORESET pool.

Patent №: 12063171 (August 13, 2024) – Small gap during uplink switch in multi-TRP. This describes a wireless device with antennas, radios, and a processor that manages downlink control for multi-TRP transmission. The device determines a gap period between consecutive uplink transmissions to different TRPs of a base station and performs the transmissions with the gap in between.

Jaehyung Kim
LG CNS Co., Ltd. Solution Advisory.
Patent №: 12063522 (August 13, 2024) – Method and apparatus for transmitting/receiving wireless signal in wireless communication system.

Various embodiments relate to a next-generation wireless communication system designed to support higher data transmission rates beyond 4G. These embodiments include methods and apparatuses for transmitting and receiving signals in such a system.
