Inventors Recognitions with Centurion Plus Utility Patents as of May 16, 2023
Welcome to the 16th of May 2023: Our goal is to celebrate the pioneering inventors recognitions who have reached noteworthy milestones in their fields this week.
Sung Sun Kim‘s inventions span various technological domains, ranging from electronics to materials science.
Patent №: 11649338 (May 16, 2023) – This recent Kim’s patent describes a composite material that includes a base polymer and an inorganic moisture absorbent; to improve its surface properties. The composite is designed to have improved moisture resistance and can be used in a variety of applications where exposure to moisture is a concern.
Patent №: 11651214 (May 16, 2023) – The invention is an AI system. That uses machine learning to simulate human brain functions like recognition and judgment. It achieves this by obtaining correlation values to measure the degree of relation between hidden layer information and learning where the correlation value is maximized.
Sampath Rangarajan
He received an M.S. in electrical and computer engineering and a Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Texas at Austin.
He was a Researcher with the Systems and Software Research Center, Bell Laboratories. Sampath was a Co-Founder and the Vice President of Technology with Ranch Networks, a venture-funded startup in the IP networking space. Also, he was with the Networking Research Center, Bell Laboratories, Holmdel, NJ.
Mr. Rangarajan heads the Mobile Communications and Networking Research Department, at NEC Laboratories America, Princeton, NJ, USA.
His research interests span the areas of mobile communications, mobile networks, and distributed systems. He has been on the editorial boards of the IEEE Transactions on Computers, the IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems, and ACM Mobile Computing and Communications Review.
Patent №: 11651664 (May 16, 2023) – The invention enables self-checkout at a point of sale using RFID technology. Multiple RFID transceivers, an RFID reader, and a classifier are employed to accurately determine if RFID tags are within a designated area. This ensures accurate charging and enhances the self-checkout experience.
Johan Torsner
He is currently a Manager Radio Network Solutions at Ericsson Research.
Johan held several positions in Research and Development at Ericsson since 1998.
He is deeply involved in the development and standardization of 3G, 4G and, 5G systems. His current research interests include 5G evolution, 6G, and connectivity for industrial use cases.
Patent №: 11652562 (May 16, 2023) – The invention involves methods and apparatus for 5G wireless communications. A wireless device receives a downlink signal with an uplink access configuration index. Then identifies the uplink, and transmits data accordingly. The device also receives different OFDM transmissions with varying numerology in different subframes.
Rohit Shetty
Staff Engineer – Advanced R&D, EUC Office of the CTO, VMware.
Rohit received Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from B. M. S. College of Engineering in 2007.
Patent №: 11651527 (May 16, 2023) – The disclosed examples involve augmented reality (AR)-based image protection in enterprise settings. One example includes a managed camera application that generates an AR-based user interface using image data from a camera’s field of view. By utilizing GPS and indoor positioning data, an indoor position can be identified. The user interface is then updated to incorporate an AR element relative to the identified protected image area.
Patent №: 11651054 (May 16, 2023) – The examples provided describe systems and methods for enabling workflows on user devices. These devices receive image data from their built-in cameras and employ object recognition and classification algorithms to identify objects within the images. The identified object’s classification is then matched with a corresponding backend system. A workflow form associated with the matched backend system is launched on the user’s device. This form can be integrated within the workflow application or accessed through a dedicated application linked to the relevant backend system.
Hans Weber
LPR at Infineon Technologies.
Dr. Hans Weber with the team of Infineon CoolMOS received the European SEMI Award 2012.
Patent №: 11652138 (May 16, 2023) – The method for producing a semiconductor device involves forming transistor cells in a body. Each cell consists of a drift region, a source, a body, and a gate electrode. The formation of the drift and compensation regions includes a first implantation step, where the first and second-type dopant atoms are implanted into the semiconductor body.
